Worthy Kitsap non-profit gets new brochure

Featured

I finished the Kitsap Cancer Services brochure this week and handed it off to the printer of choice: our local Blue Sky Printing in Poulsbo, WA.

If you know anyone living in Kitsap County and in treatment for cancer, please see their website for more information on how they can help. You can also contact them to find out how you can help your local community members.

KCS is dedicated to providing life enhancing support services to increase emotional well-being in people affected by cancer. All KCS services are offered at no cost to cancer patients, their family members, friends and caregivers. We will continually strive to match our services to our clients’ needs and to exceed their expectations for our services. We partner with area providers to work together in helping those affected by cancer and provide information of all area services available for support.

Saltwater Zapf to sponsor Director Series Conference

Educational Training Partners is at it again and we’re helping!
ETP is resurrecting a favorite series of one-day conferences for directors and administrators of early learning programs. The next one is on October 17 at the Tulalip Resort in Tulalip, WA.

Since ETP is one of our favorite clients, we’re sponsoring the conference with support in the following areas: marketing communications, graphic design, lead generation, survey creation and analysis, list management, and on-site training.

Not pre-packaged, reasonably priced

Taffy Gallagher is a creative talent with intelligent business sense. She produces a classy marketable image that is both efficient and effective. Many of my colleagues have invested well over twenty thousand dollars to develop websites with disappointing results. My experience with Kool Rd Studios has been the opposite. The price was reasonable and the product successful in connecting with the clients I want to attract. The difference at Kool Rd Studios is Ms. Gallagher’s ability to understand the marketable characteristics of your business, which she translates into a signature design. Her work is not pre-packaged. She develops a stylish logo, with presence and visibility that connects people to your business. I highly recommend Kool Rd Studios for your professional design needs.

16-page booklet complete

16-page booklet for School's Out Washington

We condensed approximately 35 pages of text from an 8.5 x 11 catalog into this 6 x 9 booklet. The goal of the project was to provide a core competencies checklist to practitioners who would otherwise not receive the larger catalog and who did not need the additional content contained in the larger format.

Upgrade is a double-edged sword

I interviewed for (and won) a new project in February. Yay! When I received the files from the previous designer, I found that I needed to upgrade not only my Adobe Suite (from CS3 to CS5), but also my machine. That’s ok, as I knew it was coming. $3000 later and project complete, I’m contacted about another project from someone else in the same organization. Yay!
The latest project is now 75% complete and the organization discovered that they cannot open and modify the content (which is part of the deal) because…they only have CS3. And, it doesn’t appear that I can save as a legacy. This is the kind of problem that can only be resolved by asking the client to spend a minimum of $700 on new software, which is higher than the project budget.

Hopefully, we’ll get over this bump gently and move forward to yet another project from another person at the organization. Because, I the work is interesting and the org’s mission is highly important.

Value for small business

Taffy is an amazing person to work with. When I started Extreme Aerial Media, I needed a logo, business papers, letterhead, you name it and Taffy took care of all of it, from the design all the way to implementation. Anyone thinking of opening a new business should definitely consider Taffy, the value one receives for her services and ideas are more than fair. I would recommend her to anyone who would need small business supplies and design.
